Where It Started
From architecture to orthodontics.
Katie did not plan on becoming an orthodontist. She planned on becoming an architect. It was a chance connection at age 16 — through Dr. John Pitner, a respected orthodontist who would later become a mentor — that shifted everything. She saw what it meant to do clinical work with real intentionality, real craft, and real care for patients as people. That was the moment.
She went on to Wofford College, then MUSC for her DMD, then the University of Illinois Chicago for her orthodontic residency and master’s degree. She has been building a practice worth being proud of ever since.
