Spark aligners need to be worn as close to 22 hours a day as possible to deliver the results the treatment plan is designed to achieve. That's not our rule. It's biology's rule. Reducing wear time doesn't slow the process down. It stops it.
The good news is that for patients who are genuinely ready to commit, clear aligner treatment fits seamlessly into daily life. You remove them to eat and drink. You brush and floss normally. You go about your day. Most patients find the adjustment far easier than they anticipated.

There are certain movements that aligners handle exceptionally well, and there are certain movements where we supplement aligner treatment with auxiliary tools to support the areas where plastic benefits from additional help.
We use those tools routinely and without hesitation when they serve the treatment plan.
The goal is always the best possible outcome, not the purest version of any single approach. We use whatever combination of tools gets you there.
SPARK FOR TEENS
Teen Treatment Requires More Than Just Trays.
Clear aligner treatment for teenagers involves a layer of clinical planning that adult treatment doesn't always require.
Teens are still growing. That growth is actually an asset in orthodontics, but it requires accounting for. We add growth modifiers to teen aligner treatment to achieve the same results with clear aligners that we achieve with braces, ensuring that jaw development and tooth movement work together rather than against each other.
We'll have an honest conversation with you and your teenager about what aligner treatment requires before we recommend it. Compliance is a real factor, and we'd rather give you an accurate picture upfront than troubleshoot avoidable problems mid-treatment.
Remote Monitoring
Orthodontic Care That Fits Into Real Life.
One of the genuine advantages of clear aligner treatment is the ability to monitor progress remotely, and we've built that into how we practice.
We use remote monitoring as part of our aligner treatment program. Patients use a simple scanning device at home to send us regular progress updates, which Dr. Bullwinkel reviews personally. This replaces most in-office appointments during active aligner treatment, which means less time in the chair and more flexibility built into your schedule.
For busy adults and families who value that flexibility, remote monitoring is one of the most practical advantages of choosing clear aligner treatment at our practice. You stay connected to your care without rearranging your life around appointments.
When in-office visits are needed, we'll let you know in advance and explain why.
AFTER TREATMENT — KEEPING YOUR SMILE
Retention Protects Everything We Built Together.
Finishing your aligner treatment is worth celebrating. What protects that result long term is retention.
Teeth are living structures. Without consistent retention, they will shift over time. This isn't a reflection of the quality of your treatment. It's biology, the same biology that moved your teeth in the first place.
Our standard retention recommendation following aligner treatment includes a fixed retainer on the lower front teeth and a removable upper retainer worn as directed. Plans can be tailored based on your individual situation.
Smile Assurance
Every comprehensive patient at Vincent & Bullwinkel, whether treated with braces or Spark aligners, is eligible for Smile Assurance. This program provides five retainers per year for five years following treatment. Retainers get lost, broken, and left behind. Smile Assurance means that never becomes a reason for your smile to change. It's our commitment to the result we worked for together.
